A common question asked is, what do I get?
This is a fantastic question and the answer is functional and integrative nutritional counseling that includes a comprehensive assessment, individualized support, and interventions that are flexible and tailored to YOU.
Comprehensive assessment: Each client I work with starts with a one and a half hour intake. This intake goes above and beyond the time most practitioners take to get to know their clients. It allows me to get a thorough understanding of your lifestyle, health history, and environment.
Individualized support: Follow up meetings are more than just a quick check in. For most of us, diet and lifestyle change takes time and are full of a variety of emotions. When you work with me you will know that follow ups are tailored to You and any struggles you may be dealing with on your journey.
Flexible and tailored to YOU: I truly believe that every person is a unique individual with unique biological, emotional, and spiritual needs. Not every intervention works for everyone and sometimes the latest fad may work against our needs while helping the needs of our friends. When you work with me you know that our time together will be free of judgement and rooted firmly in compassion and collaboration.
I currently take Regence BlueShield, BridgeSpan, Asuris Northwest Health, Healthcare Management Administrators, First Choice Health Network (including many though not all Kaiser plans, and Washington State Health Insurance Pool-WSHIP), Premera Blue Cross (including, Global, Heritage, Heritage Plus, LifeWise, and Soundpath Health networks), Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare insurance. Unfortunately I am unable to take other insurance at this time but hopefully will be able to do so in the near future. Many insurance plans accept out-of-network providers and will reimburse a portion of nutrition counseling services. I can provide you with a monthly statement that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after you have paid your bill(s) in full. This statement is called a superbill. (As of March 31st, I will no longer be accepting insurance and will no longer be taking clients in person in West Seattle. )
Please be aware that even if I am contracted with an insurance company, it does not guarantee coverage or payment for all services. Contacting your insurance company to inquire about coverage either via phone or online will help you understand your individual coverage best.
